Included in your assortment are a 750ml bottle of Penley Estate 2001 Shiraz/Cabernet red wine, a 750ml bottle of Mak 2000 Special Edition red wine food wine and a 750ml bottle Giant Steps 2002 Chardonnay white wine. ABOUT PENLEY ESTATE 2001 SHIRAZ/CABERNET RED WINE: This wine is based on a traditional Aussie style (claret style), bringing a blend of varieties food wine and areas but with more complexity food wine and finesse.  About 60% of the fruit comes from Coonawarra with the remaining from McLaren Vale food wine and Barossa Valley.  This Cabernet/Shiraz is bright crimson in color with some purple tints indicating oak maturation, bottle age, food wine and vintage character. It holds a distinctive food wine and commanding nose with strong berry-like aromas. There is an abundance of ripe fruit. The principal flavor is berry-like Shiraz along with hints of black pepper food wine and rich distinct oak. The length of flavor shows strong, rich berry and cassis Cabernet Sauvignon character.  This is a delicious young wine that can also cellar for 3-5 years.  Enjoy this wine with beef roast in a red wine reduction sauce, pork chops with cranberry sauce food wine and sharp cheddar cheeses. ABOUT MAK 2000 SPECIAL EDITION RED WINE: This blend offers an alluring and complex nose of black cherries, olives food wine and spice. These characters continue through the palate with a supple, juicy wave of dark berries food wine and herbs that swirl against an earthy background. It has the typical tight acid structure food wine and firm, balanced tannins of Yarra Yering, although the unique blend components provide a softness to the mouth. If you're familiar with the classic Yarra Yering style, you'll be surprised at how full food wine and ripe this wine is - imminently approachable food wine and drinking very well on release.  Will age for 3-5 years.  This wine will complement a variety of dishes such as tomato bread soup, sausage pizza, penne pasta with mushrooms food wine and roasted rack of lamb with mint. ABOUT GIANT STEPS 2002 CHARDONNAY WHITE WINE: Overseas, Australian Chardonnays are frequently described as "over wooded, over blown food wine and over there". Debatable perhaps but certainly the Yarra Valley offers a different perspective. The crisp, cool conditions food wine and flinty soils of the Valley slopes produce fruit in the nectarine, citrus, melon food wine and white peach range, as opposed to the richer, more tropical honeyed styles.  This Chardonnay displays aromas of cashews food wine and bread intermingled with white peaches food wine and nectarine. The palate is lengthy food wine and structured with flavors of white pepper food wine and roasted lemon rind. The palate holds good acidity; it bites but is not bitter.
